Pop! Goes the Icon (PGTI) is a boutique print and online publishing house, specializing in comic books, graphic novels, webcomics, and other forms of graphic literature and pop art. Our products are available for purchase in several physical and digital stores, as well as directly from our website.

History

PGTI started in 2007 as a comic book/pop culture blog featuring news, commentary and personal stories from Las Vegas writer, illustrator and musician Pj Perez. After moving servers a few times and building a somewhat solid web following, Perez did the only logical thing: He walked away from regular updates, temporarily turning over the blog to fellow Vegas journalist and comic geek Jarret Keene. Behind the scenes, however, the wily multimedia creator was covertly working on this, the full-fledged realization of what Pop! Goes the Icon was intended to be: A hub for new comic book, non-fiction and art projects for independent and upcoming creators.

Stay tuned for news about our latest webcomics, books, graphic novels, art collectibles and more. Best way to do that? Subscribe, of course. And if you’re a creator interested in being a part of PGTI, e-mail us for more information or visit our Submissions page.

Charity

Through the sales of special commemorative comic books, Pop! Goes the Icon has been a proud supporter of the Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival, which is produced annually by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. To date, we have donated more than $2400 to the LVCCLD Foundation in support of the festival.

We have also held fundraisers and awareness events for Save the Children, Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, The Shade Tree, and other local, national and global non-profits.
